Dances and Dancers of Jinjugwonbeon are investigated in this study to find out their meaning in the history of Korean Traditional Dances. Jinjugwonbeon was a place where "Kiseng" were trained to sing, to dances and to play musical instruments. It is easy to know that the Kiseng of Gwonbeon had played very important roles in the history of the Korean Traditional Arts, especially for the Korean traditional dances. Therefore, Jinjugwonbean needs to be studied in terms of establishing the history of the Korean traditional dances. Moreover, since most of the people who knows well about the Gwonbeon have been dying and only few of them are still alive, it is urgent to gather all historic information from them who can tell about the Gwonbeon before it is too late. In this study, the historical meanings of Jinjugwonbeon are identified by interviewing one of them, Kim Soo-Ak, and scrutinizing all the related books, theses and other reports. In addition, effects on the Korean traditional dances and the characteristics of the dances and dancers of the Jinjugwonbeon are presented.
