This study is to design of ultra wide band(UWB) antenna to use in mine detectors in the future battlefield situation. Current mine detectors used for the army uses simply the variation of the magnetic field. The effectiveness of these kinds of the detectors are week, and only metallic bodies can be detcted by the detectors. Thus new type of the mine detector to prepare the future combat has to be characterized with the function such as Ground Penetration Radar(GPR), and to do so, we have to design the UWB antenna to use for the radar type detectors so that the effectiveness of the detection can be maximized. These are the purpose of this study. We use the electromagnetic simulation and design program. With the program we design the UWB antenna for detecting the target to analyze the UWB radar signals.
