By directly conducting an aging empathy simulation on university students as subjects, the study aimed at analyzing the effect of the program on the attitude and knowledge of university students toward the elderly. The inquiry tool of the study consisted of questions for measuring the general knowledge of the subjects and their attitude and knowledge toward the elderly. The 20 questions of the aging semantic differential scaling by Sanders et al(1984) was used to measure attitude toward the elderly. The data went through frequency analysis and a matching sample T-test using spss 18.0 for windows. The research results showed that the agin simulation effected change in students’ knowledge toward the elderly. Therefore, it is important for students to personally experience the elderly as well as learn theoretically in order to understand an age group they have not experienced.
