The purpose of this study is to propose a direction for planning smart shared housing to support international students’ health. This study investigates the residence status of international students to understand their residential conditions and housing demands. The subjects of this study were limited to ‘Chinese students’ who have the highest percentage of international students staying in Korea. The result of this research shows that international students used the bedroom alone, but the rate of kitchen sharing was relatively high. More than half of the students enjoy eating out and their hobbies with their friends. However, most of them felt that the quality of their hobbies was degraded compared to that in China. In addition, they responded that they need to do exercise for your health, but in fact, the rate of students who do exercise is low. They usually have social relationship with others of the same nationalities. This implies that international students do not adapt to Korean culture well. The social function of their residential environment is somewhat lower. A high level of their space-sharing consciousness is expected to be beneficial in developing a shared housing for international students.
