The glorious Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is the biggest interest of Church and Christians. We all anticipate to witness His return. However, there is a movement related to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ called Israel restoration movement that is gaining rapid momentum among Christians. In this context, I examined the Israel restoration movement to judge whether it is biblically and theologically sound or not.
The conclusions of my research about Israel Restoration Movement are as following:
1) Replacement theology seems unbiblical. The Israel in the Old and New Testament does not indicate Christian Church in a spiritual way, but as a nation or race.
2) Before the Jesus Christ"s Second Coming, Israel will have its restoration to Jesus. It may happen either as a major event that involves great number of restoration and salvation of Israelites or a minor event that does not involve significant number of people.
3) Church should help Israel’s restoration, but the method should not involve rebuilding of Judaism. Preaching the gospel and Praying for Israel could be a better and right way.
4) The assertion that the restoration of Israel is necessary because Jesus Christ must rule it for one thousand years is unfounded. The premillennialism, biblically or theologically, is not a good doctrine.
5) We should ensure the priority of Jews in the salvation history of God. This is due to the fact that the blessed covenant between God and Israel is what allows the existence of Church. Therefore, the Church should be aware of its gospel and salvation is indebted to Israel.
