Visa-Waiver Program(VWP) is one of the biggest influential factors of determining tourism demands between two countries. In this respect, the purpose of this study is to estimate the impact of VWP between Korea and USA on tourism demand for USA using time-series models. The study uses three time-series models to determine change of tourism demand between Korea and the United States after VWP in effect. Among Holt, Winters, and ARIMA model, Winters exponential model showed highest accuracy based on its MAPE value. According to its forecast, Korean tourists visiting US increased from 28,481 in 2009 to 1,318,498 in 2013 under influence of VWP. The difference become more significant in latter years due to global economic crisis in 2009. The result clearly shows that the VWP have increased tourism of Korean visiting US. This study demonstrates a ground for a government to positively reconsider VWP with other countries to increase and promote tourism demands. This study distinguish itself from previous ones in the sense that it proves not only short distance travelers, but also long distance travelers, who has higher travel cost, think of visa process as a barrier to their trips and would choose to go to other countries without visa requirement.
