The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of ball-game programs on the health-related fitness of elementary school students. The subjects of this study are the sixth-grade elementary school students, 24 in the experimental group and 24 in the control group, all 48 in total. The group had applied the ballgame program during its 10-week creative experiential activity, and the controls performed creative experiential activities according to their existing curriculum. The collected data was analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 statistical program, frequency analysis and two - way ANOVA. The analysis results are as follows. First, it was found that the group that applied the ball-game activity program significantly improved the number of shuttle runs than the control group’s students. Secondly, it was found that the group that applied the ballgame activity program had a significant improvement in grip strength than the control group"s students. Thirdly, the group that applied ball-game activity programs had a significant improvement in trunk flexion forward than the control group"s students. Finally, it showed that the group that applied the ball-game activity program had a significantly lower BMI index than the students in the control group. As a result, the experimental group that applies ball-game sports programs showed a significant difference in Health-related physical fitness than the students in the control group. The results of this study have shown that applying ball-game programs has a positive effect on the health and fitness of elementary school children. Accordingly, efforts should be made to induce positive changes in students by developing and applying more diverse ball games to elementary school level.
