This study purposed to develop the glaze which improves printability of ceramic inks and expand the color gamut through the assessment of color reproduction for high-resolution digital ceramic printing. In this study, the changes in behavior before and after high temperature heat treatment processes were observed by printing four-colour channels of ceramic inks(Blue, Pink, Yellow, Black) in ceramic tile. In the experiment for the improvement of ceramic ink printability, the glaze layer revealed the slightest variation in ink dot when the glaze contained a kalolin additive of 22wt% and grain size was 1.90㎛. The dot shrinkage factor of each ink channel was 12. 4% at the Blue Ink, 11.0% at the Pink Ink, 13.9% at the Yellow Ink, and 11.8% at the Black Ink, which represented more than 10% improvement over existing ink dots. This study suggests the condition for optimal output of ceramic printing by measuring reflectance of a ceramic pallette printed through process of Create a New Mode, Ink Restriction, and Ink Linearization. as well as calculation of Ink saturation, ink density, ink volume. A single-channel printing pallette showed significantly stable color and lightness level. In conclusion, the application of a glaze controlled by the kaoline realized a colorful tone and expansion of color gamut by minimizing color loss and shape change and improved the printability of ceramic printing.
