This paper aims to investigate the dynamic behavior of an elastic tank which is ground-supported and filled with an arbitrary depth of the liquid. In finite element analysis, the liquid is discretized by the bilinear rectangular section ring element and the shell is done by the ring element. The Sanders` shell theory was employed to the elastic tank, and the potential theory and Bernoulli equation were used to govern the motion of the liquid in the tank. The natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes, significant displacement and stress of the tank wall were calculated in this work. It is concluded that the present solution can be employed to check the validity of the results obtained by various approximate solutions.
