A method of analysis for tall buildings implemented by active control system and subjected to turbulent wind flow is proposed. The importance of the rotational motion of tall buildings under strong wind gusts, and its coupling with the translational motions, is investigated. Also this paper offers an alternate approach to the coupled motion problem using a transfer matrix formulation in the frequency domain. A numerical example is worked out to demonstrate the feasibility of an active control system.
