With the development of media art that utilizes digital media, current trends in media art have been studied from various perspectives. This study introduces “Mandala,” which uses tattoos as a format or interactive media art. Mandala is an art piece that maps a design on the human body and then prints the design as a temporary tattoo. The piece allows users to apply tattoo designs virtually to their skin before being permanently tattooed. This enables a wider audience to participate in tattoo culture. Mandala helps tattoo culture gain positive traction in society, by removing surgical and other issues related to tattooing through interactive art.
