This study is about the interior color plan which should be important in the construction and remodeling process of the public library. Color is a design element that affects the psychological responses or emotion of the user and represents the identity of the space and the core value pursued by the space. Therefore, we started the study in consideration that it should be considered in the construction and remodeling process. As a research method, we refer to the previous study, and investigated the color condition of the interior through the field survey. Through the on - site colorimetry, it was found that the colors of YR series and GY series of middle name and low saturation range are mainly used. Also, the interior space of the library, including the lobby, was implemented with a uniform color scheme by applying similar color, brightness, and saturation. However, it was confirmed that more systematic color planning is needed to show the identity of space and to express characteristic concept. As a result,we prepared emotional vocabulary expressingthe characteristic atmosphere of the library space and prepared color image according to it. Finally, we expect that the emotional vocabulary and the resulting color images summarized in this study will be utilized and expanded as basic data in the public library’s interior color plan, and further research will be done in the future.
