The healing discourse has recently become popular in literature and humanities. The current culture of healing m ay lead readers to be only passively involved in the health and well-being of the minds of individuals rather than encouraging social political participation and communal solidarity. Therefore, through critical reflection, we can seek for the direction of literary education of healing.
In Levinas’ philosophy, ‘vulnerability’ signifies the state of being suffered by the suffering of the other, carrying ethical ‘responsibility’. Meanwhile, in Nietzsche and Deleuze"s philosophy, ‘cultural physician’ refers to writers and artists who painfully discover, diagnose, and treat signs of socio- cultural illness. T heir philosophy sought after the possibilities of an ethical subject and the possibilities of a positive and creative subject, starting from the reality of the suffering hum an being. Thus, we can first expand a wider perception of social healing by introducing ‘ethics of the others’ to the culture of healing and the literary healing. Moreover, we can convert the passiveness of literary healing into creative activeness.
