Gyeonggi-do Real Estate Portal system is one of the dominant comprehensive property information providing system in Korea, and also serves Gyeonggi Province"s spatial information. Because central government and private sector provides also this kind of services, Gyeonggi Province needs differentiated information services. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the performance of Gyeonggi-do Real Estate Portal, investigate private and public property information services, suggest how to improve the portal, and propose a long-term development direction.
It is found from analysis for demands of property information services and the survey of Gyeonggi-do Real Estate Portal users that only a limited number of users are using it on demand and are asking for improvements in many content and features. Most frequent user of this system were middle-aged property agents while young people did not use much.
It is necessary to expand the user base by adding and replace with new contents such as school district information, public transportation information, and property calculators, which young people prefer.
Starting from June of 2018, the project is currently underway to reflect users" requirements for improvement through "Web Service Environment Improvement Project for Gyeonggi-do Real Estate Portal". Gyeonggi-do Real Estate Portal aims to improve map service by converting the Flex-based system into an e-government framework to enhance productivity, standardize information service, and newly deploying it as ArcGIS Javascript-based mapping service.
In order to make the stabilized system and enhance the service functions, in this study, we suggest three ways to promote the service. First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the search system and improve the intuitive form of mapping service to utilize various administrative-led services through links with external APIs and help user convenience. In addition, it is important to provide its own mapping API and metadata to reinforce its function as a spatial information portal and to systemize the support of work through the internal network so that data can be accessed and modified directly by reflecting the tasks of each department.
Second, it is needed to introduce the index specialized in Gyeonggi and to analyze property trend using visualizations through maps.
Finally, in order to ensure stable supply and utilization of property data, the latest data acquisition and efficient management methods are urgently needed and the support systems related to portal services need to be reorganized by task force.
Rather than providing simple property information, Gyeonggi-do Real Estate Portal is seeking a development strategy by introducing a policy support and analysis platform based on one of the core technologies of smart city and acting as a data mart. In addition, spatial information-based analysis services are increasingly in demand for administrative tasks and it needs to be considered in order to continually enhance and introduce more utilization into the work system to strengthen policy support.
It can be served as a data mart and gateway through data processing, editing, and provision of data to support the revitalization of private businesses in Gyeonggi Province and it also contribute directly or indirectly to regional industrial development by expanding exchanges with private companies.
