초록·키워드
The current use of colors during environment color planning can be divided into dominant colors, secondary colors, and accent colors. Area (used 15% or less) and adjectives (colors that provide a sense of liveliness or accents) are proposed in the definition of accent colors in the color terminology dictionary. The purpose of this study is to reveal whether area has an effect when people perceive accent colors and which color properties affect accent color recognition through two rounds of surveys. Based on the survey results, saturation had a greater effect than brightness, and accent colors were not recognized in color stimuli. In the area gradient stimulant survey, area had an effect on accent color recognition. Dispersion rapidly increased based on a starting point of 30%, and accent color recognition was affected when at least 30% was applied to the overall area. In the adjective survey, adjectives such as “dynamic,” “rough,” and “impressionable” were found to be the most effective. The researcher derived from the study results implying that a new definition is required regarding the practice of using 15% or less during environment color planning and the relationship between secondary colors (30% usage) and accent colors through the properties of accent colors that are recognized by people. This may be expanded into a study on whether the use of dominant colors, secondary colors, and accent colors that are customarily used during color planning is appropriate.
