The importance and value of traditional colors are constantly recognized, and traditional coloring studies have been based steadily on cultural properties. However, there is a lack of research on color harmony of the Traditional Ink-and-Wash Painting. In this study, the research was conducted with the hypothesis that the Traditional Ink-and-Wash Painting technique will affect the harmony of the traditional colors. To prove this hypothesis, eight different contrasts were given to each of the ten traditional color schemes, and there was a question about whether each color scheme was in harmony with the subject. As a result, the perception of color harmony was divided into positive and negative according to the difference in contrast of existing shades. In addition, there was a recognized as different color harmony depending on the presence or absence of the Traditional Ink-and-Wash Painting. The results of this study are expected to be useful data for the study of the traditional color scheme.
