Growing interest in beauty and desire for self-expression have led to a diversification of wedding culture. Changes in modern society are also influencing wedding culture related to wedding dresses. Wedding dresses as ceremonial clothing items are changing according to individual tastes. Recently, there has been an increase in women wearing Hanbok wedding dresses that have incorporated elements from traditional Korean wedding costume. This total fashioning has driven a diversification in wedding applications of dresses, hair, make-up, and accessories, expressing the individual image of the bride according to changing trends. The changing annual color trends have a strong influence on nail art, make-up, hair, and fashion. Given the absence of existing research on the application of nail art color trends to wedding dresses, this paper aims to apply the annual color trends from the world-renowned Pantone Color Institute to create nail art designs consistent with the image of the dress, in terms of color and design. Through this research, we find the potential significance of nail art color and design in a bride’s wedding styling when combined with a modern dress that retains traditional elements from traditional Hanbok. Unlimited potential to create different looks was also confirmed. Thus this research aims to contribute to the continuous growth of the nail art industry by expanding the expressive scope of wedding dresses and applying Pantone’s color trends. This should lead to further research on trends related to applying elements from fashion and art to nail art designs.
