This study was conducted to understand social support and positive appraisal of care work held by care workers in long-term care facilities and analyze the effect of social supports on care worker’s positive appraisal of care work. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted and the data were collected from 286 care workers by using non-random and purpose sampling method. The results of the study are as follows: First, the result showed that social support and positive appraisals of care work were rather good and social supports significant correlation with positive appraisals of care work. As a result of multiple regression analysis to identify factors influencing positive appraisals of care work, colleague and superior support, education level and forms of employment had statistically significant influence to care worker’s positive appraisal of care work. Finding of the study indicated that care worker"s positive appraisal of care work could be improved by strengthening social support. Finally, based on the findings of the study, implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
