In Chinese art poetry and calligraphy are very closely related. Poetry changes poets’ sympathy and feelings into the language of mind while calligraphy expresses the abstraction and symbolism of poetry with visual arts. Poetry and calligraphy are mutually integrated. Poetry puts the harmony of nature into the rhythm of the characters, as well as the contents and feelings of the characters. At the same time, poetry expresses the universal rhythm, the human breath and the flow of blood by strokes and colors of calligraphy. Therefor, the integration of poetry and calligraphy is not an external method, but an inner nature.
Zheng Banqiao integrated poetry, the language art with calligraphy, the visual arts. Especially, his poetry and calligraphy have the same melody, rhythm and images. The integration of poetry and calligraphy has formed his art world.
