Recently, commercial space has become a multi-culture space with the purpose of various cultural life in addition to role of product sale. This means shifting from ownership consumption trends to experience, and furthermore, sharing consumption patterns. This consumption tendency is a phenomenon that attempts to discover new value by utilizing the space of idle industrial facilities which had been neglected. Within that, users perform functions similar to the platform that they share the same interests and interact with each other based on the network. This study examines the platform characteristics of modern industries derived from the IT and mobile fields and draws five keywords(user, communication, function, synergy, and spatial structure) The case of space was analyzed. There are five similarities between the contemporary multi-culture space using idle industrial facilities and the platform. First, unspecified number of users becomes the target of users and is operated by them. Second, participants interact and form networks. Third, it grasps the needs of participants and performs one or more functions. Fourth, the multi-functional role plays a more synergistic effect than the existing functions. Fifth, it has an open atmosphere and open structure, which leads to free activities. Thus, the platform and the multi-culture space have similar characteristics. We hope to create better commercial space by maximizing the advantage of platform and actively applying it to space field.
