In this paper I have attempted to analyze the ideological components in the inaugural address delivered by President Mubarak on the occasion of taking office in 2005 to decipher the possible interpretations of various references of Mubarak, theoretically based on Fairclough's "Critical Discourse Analysis" notion of "meanings are produced through interpretation.” In this process I have managed to identify the pattern of the structure of the inaugural address of Mubarak, even if it cannot be generalized as the structure of every inaugural address. The result of the analysis has shown that the overall theme of the speech was to strengthen the notion of democracy, unity and solidarity among the Assemblymen and the Egyptian people. For this purpose, he resorted to using eight rhetorical strategies such as "addressing", "demanding cooperation", "defining the character of the presidential inauguration", "proposing the new tasks", "self-reference", "constructing the identity as a president and rationalizing the new regime", "telling a myth", "encouraging", "mutual aligning" in his inaugural speech. Before demanding cooperation and solidarity, it was quite natural that he has attempted to persuade the audience and the Egyptians by emphasizing that the presidential election was free and fair in competitive multi-candidate election. In this connection, another theme of the speech was to inspire the Egyptians to remind them of the historic greatness of Egypt, which can be a resort for rebuilding the nation for their better future. Therefore, the prominent key-words employed by Mubarak were 'democracy', 'new', 'Egypt', 'nation', 'tomorrow', 'future' The analysis of use of the personal plural (pronoun) reference has also proved to support the above-mentioned result. It is supposed that the results of the analysis are part of characteristics of the Arabic public speaking in general, and the Arabic inaugural address in particular reflecting Mubarak's own discourse.
