This article aimed to study the history of “Pattani- Naratiwat Highway”, or “Thanon Korea” and the identities of Korean appearing during this construction. The data were collected from related documents such as ‘Shinwanunopta’(신화는 없다) written by President Lee Myungbuk(이명박대통령) as well as the interviews the people who live near the highway and the people participating in the construction process. The findings were expected to provide Thailand and Korea with more profound understanding and closer relationship. According to the study, “Thanon Korea” was constructed by Hundae Construction Company between January 7, 1966 and finish this project on the end of March, 1968. The 98-kilometer route covered Donrak sub-district, Pattani province and Naratiwat province. With the use of modern equipments by the Koreans, the highway was completed in only 2 years. Regarding the identities of Korean people, the study discovered that 1) Korean people were excellent inventors who utilized a lot of modern technology for the construction 2) they were hard working, patient, active and well adjusted, 3) they enjoyed drinking and smoking 4) they beloved organization and 5) they always greeting other when they met and separate.
