This paper has looked over some approaches to basic word order in Thai. Language typological approach shows generalized insight on basic word order and it reviews the word order variation in Thai individual sentences. This paper aims to examine the characteristics of word order as a Foreign langue, analyze the aspects of the errors in word order appeared in learning field. In the light of the linguistic typology, Thai is SVO type and Korean is SOV. That is the verb follows the subject and the object follows verb. Thai word order is much fixed, since the word order of the Thai language determine meaning. Korean students study Thai as a foreign Language, and especially the students in the beginning level have difficulty in learning Thai word order because of mother tongue interference. Especially The researcher recognized and classified the errors according to error categories; subject-verb-direct object-indirect object, conjunctive verbs, main verb- (object)-auxiliary verb in Thai. These results showed that learners in early stage of L2 learning commit errors related to their native language. As they learn the target language more and more, they show the errors affected target language itself(intralingual transfer). These results are same with the ones of previous research. And Interlanguage can fossilize and cease developing, in any of its developmental stages.
