This paper aims to show Lawrence's mythpoeia in Look! We Have Come Trough!, a chronicle that dramatized his own rebirth through his marriage to Frieda. Lawrence's resurrection myth is based on the biblical language and concepts and pagan idea. In espousing a new sexualized myth in which man and woman are resurrected to their flesh, Lawrence both appropriates the Christian resurrection myth and rewrites it with intentional heresy. The difference between the rebirth in the spirit described by Christ and that described by Lawrence is that Christ divided spirit from flesh and resurrected the spirit only. Lawrence refers instead to a rebirth in the body and a realization of god in the self, which is manifested through the senses in experiences of sex and of nature. He transmits the spiritual life, in his resurrection ideal, into the bodily life, mixing the two entities. Lawrence and Frieda are presented as revisionist types of Adam and Eve. Their recovery of paradise, the return to Eden in this life, involves escaping the sense of guilt about sex, casting off clothing altogether and returning to a state of unity with nature.
