Through the historical fact and dance homogeneity and differentiation, one of the characters which defines local identity, has been looked at.
Although the definition of local identity can be differently expressed depending on how you see, it can be said local identity’'s definition is ‘'sustainable homogeneity’'which differentiates a local from another.
Uiambyuljae is a traditional ancestral ritual formalities expressing Jinju local people’'s homogeneity and community spirit, and it is to commemorate and pass down Nongae’'s spirit.
jinju-sword-dance of Uiambyljae shows special aesthetic trait which is different form other local dance in terms of the beauty of form.
The representative characteristic is the motion holding Hansam.
Wrist motion and Chaeja motion is shown specially and another trait is that the dance has masculinity and femininity.
Jinju-sword-dance has tradtional Korean dance’'s royaldance and folkdance.
Hence, when we studies Jinju-sword-dance our traditional dance trait would be able to find out at the same time tradition korea dance.
This work will have a meaning as a re-created culture under the from local identity discourse to nation identity discourse.
However, although Jinju-sword-dance has long tradition and history, there have not been many researches about the character of the dance.
It is essentially necessary to research and interest about local dance for keeping nation identity. Therefore, this kind of study will be an important role to commemorate and hand down each local dance.
