본 연구는 인공와우이식 환아의 보호자를 대상으로 인공와우에 대한 효과적이고 체계적인 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하기 위함이다. 방법 : 본 연구는 인공와우이식 환아의 보호자를 위한 교육프로그램을 개발하고 적용하기 위하여 분석, 설계, 개발, 운영 및 평가 단계로 구성된 방법론적 연구이다. 이 프로그램은 교육책자와 DVD를 활용하여 첫 외래방문 시, 수술 전 입원 시, 수술을 위한 입원 시 3단계에 걸쳐 인공와우이식 환아 보호자에게 인공와우이식에 대해 체계화된 지식과 정보를 제공하였다. 결과 : 인공와우 관련 문헌과 교육프로그램 관련 자료, 웹사이트에 가장 많이 올려져 있는 내용을 고찰하여 프로그램은 4개 영역 22개 항목으로 교육내용을 구성하였고 10인의 전문가 집단에 의해 CVI(CVI: Content Validity Index)지수가 0.8이상의 합의가 이루어진 교육내용을 선정하여 교육자료를 개발하였다. 프로그램 적용 전, 후의 지식차이에서 적용 전 15.0점, 적용 후에는 19.0점으로 프로그램 제공 후 만족도는 4.1점(5점 만점)으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 인공와우이식 환아의 보호자를 위한 교육 프로그램은 효과적인 간호교육 중재이며, 환아의 보호자 지식을 높이는데 크게 기여하였고 프로그램에 대한 만족도가 높음을 알 수 있었다. 추후학령기 및 성인 인공와우이식 환자를 위한 확대 된 교육 프로그램 개발이 요구 된다.
