Thein Hpei Myint was the writer who had played a pivotal role in the Myanmar modern literature world. He had written both long novels and short novels. And Thein Hpei Myint was a representative resistance writer of anti-fascism people’s literature of Myanmar. He was a political novelist as well as a politician. He wrote four works which can be called anti-fascism literature. They are 『What happened in Burma』 a review published in 1943, 『Over the ashes』 a drama in 1945, 『The wartime traveller』 accounts in 1950-1955, 『As sure as the sun rising in the east』 a long novel in 1953-1957. His thoughts and actions about anti-fascism are identified through these four works. In particular, 『As sure as the sun rising in the east』, the representative work of Thein Hpei Myint, which was based on his idea and activity about anti-fascism, described anti-fascism as a personal experience through the inner description of an ordinary youth. The literary style of Thein Hpei Myintin in the aspect of contents is the anti-fascism resistance literature. This is his greatest literary character.
