This study implemented pre‐test‐post‐test control group designs to investigate effects of daily life habit education using role-play on shaping habitual behaviors in every-day life as well as self-regulation in young children. Forty-four children at age five were recruited from two classes of an elementary schoolattached- kindergarten in Gwangju city. Equal numbers of children were randomly assigned to experimental and comparative groups. The subjects in experimental group participated in daily life habit education using role-play, and the other group of subjects participated in ordinary class routine-activities at the same time of a day. The collected data were analyzed by pre-and post-tests using independent t-tests on SPSS program. It was found that the experimental group obtained significantly higher scores in both daily life habit and self-regulation performance than comparative group did. The effectiveness of the daily life habit education using role-play was evident in enhancing young children’s daily life habit and self-regulation performances.
