It is not too much to say that lookism and ‘Dongan (‘young face’)’ are the mainstream right now. This trend has also been frequently noticed among comic actors as well as among movie actors, television actors and fashion models. While comic actors aimed to deliver some hilarity and humor to the audience with a ridiculous look at the past, they now attempt to create some visual effects through lookism. For example, since the spread of wellness in 2000, metrosexuals have been in vogue. Since 2004, as well, there have been great changes in men’s lifestyles and fashions. Recently, this kind of change has also been observed among comic actors. This kind of change can be divided into two categories: wellness-based fitness project and cosmetic surgery. The former is a new-millennium trend based on a balanced and healthy lifestyle instead of just focusing on weight loss only. On the contrary, the latter is a project based on the aesthetic aspect, not on the medical perspective. This study has comparatively investigated how these trends correlate with the grooming of metrosexual actors through an analysis of previous studies. According to the investigation, propensities and characteristics were very similar in various aspects. Therefore, I hope that this study would provide data which would be useful in figuring out new consumers’ propensities in beauty market, the development of beauty-related industries and new trend in male beauty market, establishing new millennium lookism and proposing a more progressive direction.
