Recently, pearlescent has been utilized color cosmetics ingredient in various ways.
Despite the prominent utilization of pearlescent, there is little paper on effects of colorcosmetics containing pearlescent. The purpose of this study is to measure color andpearlescent effects affected by concentration of pearlescent pigment in eyeshadow. Coloreffects of upper eyelid were measured for 60 women residing in Seoul metropolitan areawith spectrometer Minolta CM-512m3. 6 eyeshadows including 3 orange and 3 blue oneswere used and the measurement was based on CIE colorimetric system. This studyshowed that color effects generally increased as the concentration of pearlescent pigmentof satin and pearl increased. This study was aimed at enhancing make-up artist's workefficiency and helping the development of cosmetics and marketing by enabling predictionof color effects affected by concentration of pigment.
