Nail art has artistic nature in that creative works can be represented with uses of various materials and representative techniques on small space of nail. Mondrian's neo-plastic paintings are characterized by abstractness and composed of red, blue and yellow rectangular sides and white and black sides with black lines. His paintings have strict structures made of vertical and horizontal lines. Therefore, this study is to study geometric and artistic sentiment based on Mondrian's painting works, and use trendy nail art techniques to create practical nail art. The study speculated artistic world of creative works using items with aesthetic values from Mondrian's artistic works and created more effective nail art techniques based on their characteristics.
Mondrian had a firm belief that space should be a form and a plane based on the principle of painting out of natural concept The study attempted a new change of nail art emphasizing trichromatic and achromatic colors although there is a limit in expressing the plane using nails.
