Nevus sebaceous is a rare tumor in the external ear. It is clinically important because this tumor has chance to progress to benign
or malignant neoplasm. This change generally occurs after adolescent age. The most common malignant neoplasm arising in this
lesion is basal cell carcinoma. Therefore, many authorities recommend complete excision before puberty. A 9-year-old boy
visited our clinic with multiple nevi sebaceous involving the pinna and external auditory canal. The tumors were removed completely
and the defect was covered with skin graft. There has been no evidence of recurrence as of 10 months following the surgery.
We report this case with a review of literature. (Korean J Otorhinolaryngol-Head Neck Surg 2008;51:487-90)
