This study was conducted to achieve comprehensively three objectives. First, the linearrelationship between target perceived organizational politics (superiors and coworkers) andOCB (superiors, coworkers) was tested. Second, causal relationships between targetorganizational politics and silence were investigated. Third, the mediating effects of silencebetween organizational politics (superiors and coworkers) and OCB (superiors andcoworkers) were demonstrated respectively. Data was collected from 375 individuals whoreside in Jeju and work for public/private companies as well as local government offices. Based on the analysis, we identified a discrepancy which exists between organizationalpolitics by superiors and organizational politics by coworkers. More specifically, organizational politics by superiors was identified to reduce OCB-S, but there is no linearrelationship between organizational politics by coworkers and OCB-C. Also, bothorganizational politics were associated with respectively. Mediating effects of silent behaviorsin relationship between Organizational Politics (superiors, coworkers) and OCB (superiors, coworkers) was partly significant in the case of the superior's mechanism variable. Findingsare as follows. First, the results indicated which organizational politics by superiors andcoworkers had differential effects, thus, providing meaningful implications for future studieson organizational politics. Second, the findings about negative impacts of organizationalpolitics on silent behaviors further expand the research area of organizational politics andsilent behaviors. In practice, to improve productive behavior, on which reduce organizationalpolitics, are required.
