Daniel Buren queries the "representation" in the traditional sense, through "work in situ" and attempts to interpret it in a new way. He base this question on "relation between work and the place", "visible as a paintion itself", "repeated use of stripes", "zero status", "neutral", "visual tool". In this process, he examines this word : "artists", "work of art", "spectator" and "place". In particular, the work of art does not imply the religious, cultural and social values. But it exist only as a visual tool. This visual tool demands that the spectator see it through the perception, that is to say using his senses. Eventually, what represents the dynamic relation between them is "work in situ".
