This paper analyzes the causality between foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow and gross domestic product (GDP) growth and wage rate in Kazakhstan. From the unit root test and cointegration test, these variables were I(1); furthermore, cointegration was not observed. Therefore, the Vector Autoregressive Model (VAR) was studied in this paper. The causality test showed that only GDP influenced FDI. Moreover, the impulse response function showed that the shock of one standard deviation from GDP initially has a strong positive impact on FDI.
