This paper reviews the existing perception studies conducted in Korea and compares the major findings from them. By finding out any changes or consistencies of EU perceptions in the Korean society over time, one can understand what the major issues in Korea‐EU relationship are and how they have affected the evolution of the relationship over time. For the past few years, the EU‐Korea FTA emerged as a crucial issue and is believed to serve as a turning point of further development of the bilateral relationship. In order to promote the EU’s presence in Korea, constant effort should be made to establish a communication channel between the two parties.
