In this paper I show that in Korean scrambling is subject to the CSC but multiple gaps derived from scrambling in a coordinate structure are exempt from the CSC. I argue that the gaps are ATB-gaps, but not pros even though Korean has pro. I test ATB-gaps in Korean with case (mis)matching, island effects and SCO effects, and show that the hypothesis of ATB-gaps can account for reconstruction effects in anaphora binding, variable binding, condition C effects and scope relations, and WCO effects. All the instances above show symmetries between the first and the subsequent conjuncts in a coordinate structure in Korean, which tells us that the gap in each conjunct in a coordinate structure has the equal status and they are all ATB-gaps.
