This is an analysis GeumGang Mountain⋅an Account of Sightseeing to Mountains in Four Villages - a documentary literature describing a trip of Diamond mountains and other mountains in four villages, by Seo, MoonTaek. In this thesis, there are four points of view in the analysis. In the first place, you can notice the traces of Seo's journey for 37 days. I described his itineraries by his moving and this was based on his record which was written in a journal type. I divided the means of transportation he had used into a horse, a coach and a ship. Among them, a horse was a major one used by officers and the noble while current or former bureaucrat made a coach their methods for transportation. Noblemen who couldn't afford enough made their trips on their own foot. Regardless of social status, people used a boat but only government officials and yangbans, noblemen in Joseon Dynasty, were allowed to take a boat for a travel. Secondly, I examined Seo's attitude in the way he had depicted and recorded. The writer, Seo, showed his own portrayal ways based on reality rather than exaggeration or rhetoric. Simultaneously, he told us very delicately and closely about what he had seen. Moreover, as an investigator, Seo took a consistent attitude, which collected and recorded information very seriously. Because of this, we can deeply trust the actuality and confidence in his writing. Lastly, I broke down how people welcomed and entertained their guest by social ranks. When it comes to local heads, for example, they used to make a party for their guests in a lookout of their official areas. Gisaengs, Korean geishas, entertained the visitors by playing geomungo-Korean musical instrument with six strings or a Korean mandolin or dancing or singing. Yanbans invited guests to their house and gave them warm hospitality. For commoner, they served their visitors with fish on their own or food that they usually ate. This looks a little simple and humble at a glance, but it was very tenderhearted, though. Like this, MoonTaek Seo's work is a kind of mode in literature accounting of trips in 18c. So it deserves the best and a turning point of an account on trips.
