The oriental medicinal tourism is characteristic medical tourism of Korea and distinctive from the western medical tourism. The oriental medicinal tourism catches a lot of attentions because of the low dangerousness of the medical malpractice and the long term stay to have competitiveness in the medical tourism field. The strategies by the SWOT analysis according to the present situation are as follows to activate the oriental medicinal tourism which satisfy the wellness needs and well-being trend. First, the publicity activities of the oriental medicine are necessary to inform of the oriental medical superiority and to enhance the oriental medical reliability. The Korean-Wave can solve this assignment according to informing the oriental medical value with the Korean traditional culture. Second, we should offer dishes to the wellness tourist by using the medicinal herbs and korean traditional food according to the oriental medical diagnosis. Third, the connection of the oriental medicine clinic and the accommodation for the rest is necessary to cover the needs of stay longer than the western medicine. Forth, the cluster of the oriental medicine clinic and the tourist attractions are needed to satisfy the oriental medicinal tourist who want to experience the various activities for a long time.
