Increasing attentions have recently paid to elderly care facilities due to the inadequate service facilities, such as internal spaces, road and parking, environment. In this regard, this study aims to develop evaluation indicators that can be used to evaluate the 5 elderly care facilities.
Five elderly care facilities were examined according to evaluation indicators. Most of the elderly care facilities suffer from the inadequate internal spaces, road and parking, accessibility and environment.
The results of research show that safety of elderly life turned out to be the most critical factors. Thus, Safety-related factors should be given high priority in designing elderly care facilities.
This study can be used to provide guidelines for improving elderly care facilities.
