발명교육의 총괄목표는 “발명에 대한 소양이 부족한 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학교 학생들에게 발명에 관한 교육을 통하여 자연 현상에 대한 기본적인 지식과 원리를 터득하고 창의적 문제해결 능력과 발명 능력을 향상시킴으로써 미래사회의 행복을 보장하고, 국가사회의 발전에 공헌한다.”로 설정하였다. 발명교육의 내용 체계는 발명과 이해, 발명과 사고, 발명과 과학, 발명과 기술, 발명과 특허, 발명과 경영 등 6개 대영역에 걸쳐 16개의 하위 영역, 52개의 내용 요소로 구조화하였다. 구조화한 발명교육의 내용 체계에 기초하여 모든 대영역 및 하위 영역에 대하여 교육 목표를 설정하였고, 입문(1,2,3학년), 초급(4,5,6학년), 중급(7,8,9학년), 고급(10,11,12학년) 등 네 단계에 걸쳐 내용기준을 개발하였다. 개발된 학교 발명교육의 총괄목표와 구체목표는 이후 발명교육과정을 설계할 때 이정표 역할을 할 수 있을 것이고, 구안된 발명교육 내용 기준안은 이후 발명교육 내용을 개발할 때 적절히 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 추후에는 교과교육을 통한 발명교육이 좀 더 체계화되기 위해서는 현행 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학교 교과서에 발명교육 관련 내용이 어느 정도 반영되어 있는가를 객관적으로 분석할 필요가 있다.
The purposes of the study were 1) to justify necessities of invention education, 2) to propose the objective system of an invention education, and 3) to develop contents standards for an invention education through a school subject.
This study was carried out through literature review related to invention education, development of educational objective and contents, and also through an advisory group conference consisted of 10 expertises.
Conclusions of this study were as follows:
1. Necessities of invention education were justified such as effective improvement of creative problem solving skill, effective induction of learning motive, wide opportunities offering of taste activities, true understanding toward human love, and enforcement of nation competitive power.
2. General objective of invention education was defined as "to have elementary․middle․high school students who are insufficient of inventional literacy to get basic principles about natural phenomena and to improve creative problem solving skill, and finally to secure happiness of future society and to contribute to development of nation".
3. Concrete objectives of invention education were set as 11 sub domains at the base of general objective, and they were also divided into information- knowledge domain, thinking-skill domain, and value-attitude domain.
4. Contents of invention education were divided into 6 domains such as invention and understanding, invention and thinking, invention and science, invention and technology, invention and patent, and invention and management. Sub domains of them were 16, and content elements were organized 52 in total.
5. Contents standards for invention education were developed at the base of educational objectives according to the level of introduction(1,2,3), elementary(4,5,6), middle(7,8,9), and high(10,11,12).
