Due to the rapid industrialization and modernization, Koreans also have confronted with mental problems like distrust and anxiety caused by excessive competition and severe conflicts between generations, genders, and economic classes. The government has provided the public health service based on the Mental Health Law since 1959, but the services delivered are mostly the institution-centered, passive and limited. From this point, the study tries to find the current concepts in the positive mental health changing fro those of prevention or treatment of the mental disease into those of better life. Total of 34 Q-sample structured by Johoda’s 19 categories were sorted by 55 P-sample selected in terms of sex, age, and education level. Finally this study identified 5 distinct factors: (1) Communitarian, Let’s get through difficulties hand in hand, (2) Rationalist, Let’s go toward the goal, (3) Individualist, The owner of my life is only myself, (4) Humanist, Human being have dignity in themselves, and (5) Religionist, We are all spiritual-being.
