Background: Chronic urticaria is a disease which is defined as hives with itching which waxed and waned for more than 6 weeks. In some cases, hives are intractable and refractory even while on medical treatment. Aspirin can cause and exacerbate chronic urticaria. We experienced two cases of intractable aspirin-sensitive chronic uriticaria which were successfully controlled by aspirin desensitization. Case History: Two adult patients had been suffering from hives with itching which were diagnosed as aspirin sensitive chronic urticaria. Their hives had worsened during medical treatment and had been exacerbated by aspirin administration. Results: Aspirin desensitization was attempted in each patient and the hives were successfully treated without having hives of daily administration of aspirin 300 mg. Conclusion: Aspirin desentization can be used as a treatment option in patients with chronic urticaria with aspirin sensitivity.
