=The Effects of Epiduroscopy in Spinal Stenosis A case report Woo Yong Lee, M.D. and Yoo Sung Jeong, M.D.Pain Clinic, Department of Anesthesiology, Sanggye Paik Hospital, College of Medicine, Inje University, Seoul, KoreaA spinal stenosis is a comman cause of lower back pain and gait disturbances. The treatments for a spinal stenosis are devided into surgical therapy and conservative therapy such as medication, rehabilitation, nerve block, etc.. Epiduroscopy has become increasingly popular in treating spinal pain syndrome where other methods are not effective. Recently, some authors have reported that an epiduroscopy was less effective on a spinal stenosis than a herniation of the intervertebral disc and failed back surgery syndrome.We encountered a 76-year-old man suffering from low back pain and claudication due to a spinal stenosis, which could not be controlled by conventional therapy. The symptoms of this patient improved dramatically after an adhesiolysis and steroid injection to the L5 root with an epiduroscope.Epiduroscopy is a valuable measure to relieve the symptoms of a spinal stenosis.
