On this research, we tried to find the source of the movements of our dance though the dance of Mae-bang Lee, one of the greatest talented artists of our traditional dance. Therefore, we started on questioning how the dance steps of Mae-bang Lee have coe to its form and understanding correctly the meaning of the traditional style shown in the work and its characteristics. Our goal is to uncover the symbolic importance of the Korean Dance and find out the thoughts ad emotions as well as the spirit of our people by showing its specific example through the whole procedure. This study was performed for defining the properties shown in stylistic dance aspects of the Mae-bang Lee on the basis of primary literature review, and complementing defects in the existing studies concerned. As an initiate of the Mae-bang Lee Dance, the Korean intangible cultural asset NO. 97, I attempt to focus on stylistic parts of the Mae-bang Lee Dance whose importance has been recognized while I personally has experienced and taught. To investigate the history, form, physical movements and aesthetical aspects of 'IpDance', 'SalpuriDance, 'ChangumDance', ‘SeungchunDance', firstly relevant books were surveyed, secondly a field research was conducted and finally the author's direct experiences of receiving dance training were referred. I expect that this study will contribute to showing a good direction for the future Creative dance as well as become a necessary work to cherish the traditional spirit of Korean Dance.
