The status of traditional Korean costume has been growing and the color and design also have been diversifying due to the national policies, such as Han-style and Han Brand, the K-drama and K-pop in the 21st century. The traditional Korean costume(Hanbok) has been already settling as tradional Korean costume culture, not remaining as just ‘traditional Korean costume’ that is a dress code for Korean’s identity. This study aimed at dividing the policy for traditional Korean costume culture and the strategy for the policy of the generation from K-1.0 to K-4.0 into 3 periods, plan formation period, developing period and maturing period and reviewed them. With this, we tried to help establishing the policy and strategy for developing traditional Korean costume culture in K-5.0 generation. Since the policy of traditional Korean costume started in 2012, the policy of it has got the significant result. Especially, according to the policy from 2014 to 2016, 50 projects were progressed and 58% of them were conducted in 2016. Until 2017, the conduct of the policy of traditional costume was actively progressed in the local levels of government rather than Seoul, it was the one-time events or culture event of experience for wearing the traditional Korean costume without the difference between the areas. For activating traditional Korean costume culture, the project of traditional Korean costume has to be grown together. In 2018, as seeing the projects related with the traditional Korean costume that was conducted in Seoul, there were many different features such as creating new jobs, industrial activities and enjoying culture. Most of all, for leading developmentally and stably traditional Korean costume, the government needs to make a law on the promotion of traditional Korean costume culture , training Hanbok Culture Leader and establishment of Hanbok larchiveum. The support policy of empowerment from Hanbok Advancement Center that can be a role as a platform for developing traditional Korean costume culture and to settle the stage for conducting a successful policy.
