The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of physical characteristics of a building and urban environmental factors on building’s energy consumption patterns. Using the building energy use data of multi-family residential buildings in Seoul, the association of building energy use with various physical factors at the building and micro urban scale is examined. The results suggest that, in summer, the occupancy rate, total floor area, floor area ratio, ground floor number, households, and house price were the main factors of energy consumption change. In winter, ground level, house price, and average height were the factors that caused the change in energy consumption.
