Recently, various certification and facility standards related to smart homes are being implemented by government departments to build a foundation for smart home infrastructure and provide residential services to meet the various needs of residents in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. These certifications and standards should complement each other because they are simultaneously applied to a single, completed building. However, after analyzing 5 current systems related to smart homes, we found problems such as confusing evaluation item names, different standards for similar evaluation items, citation of other certification systems, different evaluation item characteristics, and regulations on certification validity periods. Based on this, we propose establishing an integrated certification system and standards for smart homes, setting certification expiration dates and establishing re-certification evaluation systems to maintain the performance of smart homes, and plans to activate and induce smart homes to improve smart home systems.
