The Memorial space has the characteristics of being a place that allows you to remember the tragedy that happened in the past through the space. In other words, the space in Memorial exists as a body of memory, and it is symbolic of the memory. These characteristics are the most basic of memory, and are aimed at experiencing and remembering past time. I would like to study the characteristics of spatial accessibility in modern memory based on this particularity. Also, I am going to explore the method of spatial approach planning for the Memorial space composition that makes visitor face the historic fact, mourn the victim and heal the trauma of collective memory. In order to find the characteristics of space through physical access to the location of the Memorial, I picked and studied Vietnam War Veterans Memorial, Washington, USA, Holocaust, Berlin, Germany and Ground Zero, New York, USA which are not building-type of Memorial but square and park highlighting the meaning of Memorial. Based on the characteristics and accessibility of modern expression, the analysis of the place, space, formative and scale characteristics of each memory has shown that the accessibility to space is very easy in all three places. In addition to inducing natural entry, the walking space in the memory was created to confirm that it serves as a medium for memory. In addition, I could find the characteristics of a community space that provides opportunities to empathize with and communicate with historical memories through personal thought and experience. In modern society, the pain and sorrow that follows to individuals when an event occurs that impacts all communities has difficulties that cannot be handled at a personal level. It was able to confirm that this pain and sadness could be reborn as a place to mourn together in the city, an active place to prevent events that might happen again and again by remembering them without stopping in the city.
