This study aimed to investigate differences, if any, of undergraduate and graduate students’ perceptions of the English musical theater class they participated in at a national university of education, particularly focusing on a) their attitudes and satisfaction towards the class, b) the impact of the class on their affective, linguistic and musical ability domains, and c) the effect of using English musical for teaching English to elementary students. To this end, nine undergraduate and eleven graduate students were requested to respond to a survey questionnaire including 40 items and 3 open-ended questions with a proper reliability level (Cronbach’s alpha coefficienct, 0.95). Data analysis through quantitative methods revealed that the graduate students showed higher scores compared to the undergraduate students regarding the teaching contents, procedures, and evaluation methods as well as their perceptions of fun, interest, and participation in the class. It was also found that the graduate students showed more positive perceptions than the undergraduate students with respect to their musical ability domains of singing, dancing, and acting.
